FAQ

DoseMinder

Q: The clock shows the same time as an active Dose Reminder, why didn’t the Dose Reminder trigger?

A:Both the internal representations of the Dose Reminder and the device's clock are more precise than what is being displayed.  The Dose Reminder time display, and device clock display to the minute (HH:mm).  The Dose Reminder records the time to the second (HH:mm:ss).  The following scenario illustrates how the clock display shows the time to the minute, but the DoseMinder notification does not appear immediately:

For example, let’s say the Dose Reminder’s Next Dose time is 9 Jun 2011 6:40.35 PM.  The Dose Reminder time shows 9 Jun 2011 6:40 PM.  The Dose Reminder remains active for 35 seconds after the device’s clock turns 6:40 PM on 9 Jun 2011.

Q: How do you enter Dose Reminders for medications that are to be taken after meals?

A: Enter three Dose Reminders for the person, to be taken at the time of breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  Each of these Dose Reminders will have a frequency of 1 day.

For example, Jane needs to take cough syrup with breakfast (7:30 am), lunch (12:30 pm), and dinner (5:30 pm).  Three Dose Reminders will be added for Jane as follows:

7:30 am with a frequency of 1 day

12:30 pm with a frequency of 1 day

5:30pm with a frequency of 1 day

Q: How do you enter Dose Reminders for medications that are to be taken two/three/four/.../X times daily?

A:  Determine the time(s) during the day that the medication should be taken, then enter individual Dose Reminder(s) for the person, to be taken at those times.  Each of these Dose Reminders will have a frequency of 24 hours.

For example, Jane needs to take cough syrup twice daily.  Two Dose Reminders will be added for Jane as follows:

8:00 am with a frequency of 1 day

8:00 pm with a frequency of 1 day
